Case study on melanoma

In Belgium, around 3600 patients are diagnosed with melanoma every year. They deserve the best possible support. Therefore, it is important to adapt research and treatments to the unmet health-related needs of these individuals.

The objective of this case study is to quantify and describe health-related needs in patients suffering from malignant melanoma, based on a quantitative study and a qualitative study.

The quantitative study is carried out using an anonymous online survey based on the tool (survey) developed by KCE. The online survey was available in French and Dutch between May 4th 2023 and July 2nd 2023. The qualitative study takes the form of face-to-face interviews in French and Dutch. Patients for the qualitative study were selected from the sample of patients included in the quantitative survey.

Results of the study will be published in March 2024.
